The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has announced the lifting of the ban on retail investors trading crypto exchange-traded notes (cETNs), with the regulatory change set to take effect on October 8, 2025. The ban was implemented in January 2021 due to the extreme fluctuation of crypto assets and "a lack of legitimate investment demand." The FCA also made it clear that crypto derivations (such as futures, options, perpetual futures) will continue to be prohibited. (Cointelegraph)
